The Irish Workhouse Diet, 1850-1950: A unique public event offering an immersive encounter with the diets of Belfast’s poorest inhabitants over 100 years ago. Oatmeal gruel, broth and suet pudding will contrast with the finer diets of Belfast’s wealthy, who dined on Hunter’s Pie and exotic fruits transported from overseas.

The Womb Room is an immersive audio/visual installation using sonograms brought to life by kids imaginations! Utilising spherical projection and surround sound, experience a tapestry of ante-natal sonograms, child’s drawings and rich textures inspired by primary school children’s response to the questions ‘what is it like for a baby inside its mummy’s tummy?’.

Description: Performed Cornet Play is a project developed through the collaboration between sound artists Diogo Alvim and Matilde Meireles. This multilayered performance was specially conceived for the annex of the Physical Education Centre at Queen’s University Belfast.
Description: Technical Manager, John Cage’s Roaratorio: An Irish Circus on Finnegans Wake. The performance involved the installation of 40 portable speakers that spatially-diffused the octophonic work across the 1.5-kilometer stretch of underground caves (i.e. Marble Arch Caves, Enniskillen). Working in association with the International Samuel Beckett Festival, Laura Kuhn from the John Cage Trust, Patricia Lent from Merce Cunningham Trust, and the Sonic Arts Research Centre.
Description: Performance of an electroacoustic concert series at the Samuel Beckett Festival, Enniskillen. The programme was sparked by the fact that Stockhausen was working on his Gesang der Jünglinge at the same time in the 1950s that Beckett was writing Krapp’s Last Tape.
